A note from the founder
There’s something sacred about the hush between tides.
That moment when the ocean isn’t rushing in or pulling back—but simply being. Still. Present. Resting in its strength.
That’s what I wanted to capture when I began Gulf Kind.
This brand wasn’t born in a boardroom or brainstorm. It came to life the way so many Southern things do—quietly, over time. Like salt settling into wood. Like sun-warmed porch floors in summer. Like handwritten notes left on a nightstand with a sprig of rosemary.
For years, I’d been treading water in the rush of modern life—motherhood, work, commitments that never slowed. I found myself craving softness. Meaning. Something slower and sturdier than hustle. I wanted to build something rooted. Something beautiful. Something that held space for both tradition and tenderness.
Gulf Kind is the answer to that longing.
It’s a reflection of everything I hold dear:
-
The values I was raised with—honor, kindness, humility.
-
The rhythm I’m learning to live by—intentional, generous, slow.
-
And the coast that taught me how to exhale—deep, quiet, constant.
Here, we believe in handwritten cards that say what texts never could. In candles that mark both celebration and solace. In bath rituals that honor the body and the mind. In giving not just things, but care.
We make goods, yes—but more than that, we hope to offer moments.
Moments of grace.
Moments of beauty.
Moments where someone feels seen.
This is not a brand for perfect people. It’s for thoughtful ones. People who choose to live with intention, even when life is loud. People who know that gentleness is strength. People who find the sacred in the slow.
You’ll find that everything we make carries a bit of the Gulf in it. The hush of early morning. The grace of a letter sent. The quiet power of a tide that knows when to rise and when to rest.
So, welcome.
To the tide. To the table. To a slower way of being.
I’m so glad you’re here.
